False Expectations Appearing Real
This photo scares me! As an adrenaline junky, I still want nothing to do with rafting into a hole like that. Looks like he's headed right for it. But actually, he's floating on the current to the side of it, probably very thankful he planned well, read the water right and missed it….Kind of like life. Face your fears, plan, execute the best you can, and float on by.
FYI. Crystal rapid was formed in the Grand Canyon by a rock slide after Glen Canyon Dam was built. No one had ever seen it at the ultra high water levels in 1983. It was scarey before that, and it killed people during that season.
